Easy Sautéed Broccoli with Garlic

Of course we had to add garlic to zip up the broccoli. Garlic is great in just about EVERYTHING! Often we will also add some red pepper flakes or even chop up a habanero to really spice up this fun veggie dish. This really is one of those recipes that can be either a side dish or a main course. Oh, and it’s great as leftovers the next day.

Key to bringing out the bright green!

The key to making this sautéed broccoli have that great bright green color is to blanch the broccoli first. This trick is a great way to quickly cook the broccoli and to really make it pretty!!!

  1. Cut the broccoli in manageable or bite size pieces.
  2. Bring a sauce pan of water to a boil
  3. Add salt to the water after it starts to boil
  4. Place the broccoli into the boiling water
  5. Blanche the broccoli for 3 to 4 minutes
  6. Drain the Broccoli.

While blanching the broccoli slice the garlic and heat the olive oil in a large pan.

Toss the blanched broccoli into the pan with the garlic. Toss for two or three minutes.

Enjoy this Sautéed Broccoli with Garlic!!!!!
