The shoulder tap is one of the most underrated core exercises. It is an exercise in the plank position. Doing shoulder taps in plank position creates cross-body tension to work your core.
You don’t have to do endless sit-ups or planks to work your core. There are plenty of other great core training exercises you can do to add some variety to your core workouts.
Start with a plank or push-up position with your feet slightly wider than normal. The key to the shoulder tap exercise is to keep a level pelvis. Don’t allow your hips to swing. Keep them parallel with the ground.
Try to do 15 shoulder taps on each arm. This is a great core exercise for chest day. If you aren’t exhausted yet, do a plank afterward!
