For a long time, we’ve heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But, with all the new research and dietary studies coming out, this may not be quite as true as we once thought. Especially when it comes to weight loss.
Because there are some pretty bad choices you can make as far as breakfast options for weight loss go. One of the most important aspects of the best weight loss breakfast is that it should be low in carbs. And this is largely due to the fact that, when we wake up, our body begins producing cortisol which pumps glucose into your bloodstream for a little energy boost.
But if we pair that with a breakfast that’s high in carbs, adding to the glucose blood sugar levels from the cortisol, some of that excess glucose will get stored as fat.
The best fat loss breakfast is one that also is high in protein and high in healthy fats. Out of the three main categories (proteins, carbs, and fats) protein is the best at keeping you full the longest, so having a breakfast high in protein will help fight off those early hunger spikes.
On the same note, healthy fats like avocados and eggs are a great way to help keep your blood sugar levels and energy stable throughout the day.

You can also do a breakfast that has whole foods in it. And even though eggs get a bad rep in the conversation of weight loss and cholesterol levels, we know now that they do not contribute to increased risk for heart disease. And they are both a great source of protein and healthy fats.

For some, the best weight loss breakfast option is not having one at all. There are some really great benefits behind intermittent fasting from dinner to lunch including calorie control, metabolic boosts, and restorative effects for your body.
